Elements of Competency Performance Criteria
Element: Determine job requirements
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Comply with work health and safety (WHS) requirements at all times
  • Analyse the design brief or similar sources to plan and determine rendering requirements

Element: Select a suitable rendering application
  • Select rendering software with capability to achieve the desired effects within timeframe and budget
  • Confirm selection is in accordance with design brief, system limitations and requirements

Element: Prepare rendering application
  • Select and apply appropriate image resolutions, aspect and pixel ratios to achieve desired outcome
  • Adjust renderer attributes to obtain desired anti-aliasing and other visual effects

Element: Check render integrity and quality
  • Test and refine render integrity, re-linking any missing images and textures
  • Test render times for optimising process
  • Test alpha channels and opacity matts against requirements
  • Test render layers and passes against requirements

Element: Optimise images for render processes
  • Complete relevant pre-rendering optimisation tasks
  • Adjust and refine renderer attributes to optimise render times
  • Select file names, formats and output destination in accordance with the brief

Element: Render images and save files appropriately
  • Undertake final rendering processes to meet design requirements
  • Store files in accordance with SOPs
  • Review completed render to ensure compliance with system and brief

Submission Requirements

List each assessment task's title, type (eg project, observation/demonstration, essay, assignment, checklist) and due date here

Assessment task 1: [title]      Due date:

(add new lines for each of the assessment tasks)

Assessment Tasks

Copy and paste from the following data to produce each assessment task. Write these in plain English and spell out how, when and where the task is to be carried out, under what conditions, and what resources are needed. Include guidelines about how well the candidate has to perform a task for it to be judged satisfactory.
Copy and paste from the following performance criteria to create an observation checklist for each task. When you have finished writing your assessment tool every one of these must have been addressed, preferably several times in a variety of contexts. To ensure this occurs download the assessment matrix for the unit; enter each assessment task as a column header and place check marks against each performance criteria that task addresses.
